Doug Vair

2009 Honouree – Builder, Special Olympics Powerlifting

Doug Vair was a Special Olympics Powerlifting Coach from 1997 to 2013. During that time, he coached the Ontario Provincial Team in 2002 (Prince Albert, Saskatchewan), 2006 (Brandon, Manitoba) and 2010 (London, Ontario). In 2007, he coached local athletes Betty Farr and Jason Richardson in preparation for the 2007 World Games in Shanghai, China. Vair was the Powerlifting Technical Liaison for the Provincial Spring Games in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
