Arnold Anderson
1994 Honouree – Builder, Broadcaster
Arnold Anderson was the voice of sports at Brantford’s CKPC radio station for over 50 years, until he retired in 1998. He was the play-by-play announcer for many Brantford Red Sox baseball games, Brantford Warriors lacrosse games, and all Brantford Alexanders Major A hockey games. Arnold loved to promote local kids of all abilities in their sporting activities. In 1972, he interviewed a 10-year old hockey player named Wayne Gretzky, and his father Walter Gretzky, who remained close friends until Anderson’s death in 1999. Arnold also won many local, provincial, and national awards for contributions to his community.
