Jay Wells

1998 Inductee – Athlete, Hockey

Jay Wells Nicknamed "The Hammer" for his tough physical play, Wells played in the National Hockey League with teams that included the Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, and the New York Rangers. He was on the Stanley Cup championship team in 1994 with the Rangers, which was pivotal near the end of his long, 18-year professional career.

    Jay Wells was the assistant coach for the Portland Pirates, of the American Hockey League, who were the top affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League.
