David Hearn

David Hearn began his golf career hitting a cut down 3 wood golf club his father made for him at the age of 3. He quickly fell in love with the game, playing his first full round at the age of 7 and his first tournament at the age of 10. Hearn highlighted his junior golf career by representing Canada at the World Junior Golf Championships in Japan in 1997. He then went on to earn a full golf scholarship at the University of Wyoming from 1997-2001. Hearn was also recognized for his outstanding collegiate achievements in 2015 when he was inducted into the University of Wyoming Sports Hall of Fame. 

In 2001, Hearn represented Canada as a member of the victorious Four Nations Cup Team. That year, he turned professional, working his way up the ranks. Starting on the Canadian Tour, he continued to improve and branch out onto other Tours. He even played briefly on the Asian Tour before gaining status on the Nationwide Tour in 2004. 

Hearn realized his dream of playing on the PGA Tour in 2004 after surviving 6 grueling rounds at the PGA Tour qualifying school. He capped his qualifying efforts off with a dramatic birdie putt on the 108th hole of the tournament to secure his PGA card for the first time. 

Hearn’s first foray on the PGA Tour in 2005 was not successful. He returned to the Nationwide Tour for 5 seasons before regaining status on the PGA Tour in 2011. Finding success this time, David went on to play 11 consecutive seasons on the PGA Tour playing more than 300 events. Some of David’s PGA Tour highlights include playing in the Sunday final group at the 2015 RBC Canadian Open and finishing solo 3rd. It was one of the best results a Canadian player has had at the national championship in recent history. 

Hearn went on to represent Canada in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games as golf made its return to the Olympic Games after a 112 year absence. He also represented Canada twice at the World Cup of Golf in 2013 and 2016.

Throughout his career, Hearn has competed in over 500 events worldwide. He has enjoyed life as a touring professional and continues to give back to the by donating his time to junior golfers and other golf related charitable endeavors.
