Joe Maich

1984 Inductee – Athlete, Wrestling

During the Great Depression, Maich started amateur wrestling at age 14, and for the next 50 years was part of the sport. He started his professional career as a middleweight and his natural strength gave him an edge over his opponents, as he fought against some of North America’s best wrestlers. Near the end of his career he turned to promoting and brought big wrestling stars to Brantford.
