Lydia Vamos

1999 Inductee – Athlete, Soccer

Vamos started playing soccer when she was 9-years-old, and by the time she was 14 had scored 500 goals. She went on to play for McMaster University and the Canadian Women’s National Soccer Team from 1989-1995. She was named Brantford Athlete of the Year and was twice honoured as McMaster’s Female Athlete of the Year. Vamos transitioned from athlete to professional coach and has led multiple winning teams.
