You may choose either Athlete or Builder application, not both.

The purpose of the Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition is to recognize those athletes who have achieved the highest standards of excellence and those in supporting roles whose contributions have been exemplary and significant.

Athlete

Athlete is an individual who has competed in sport at a National or International level.

Inductee Eligibility Criteria

  1. Have participated for a minimum of three years in a professional or amateur sport and be eighteen years or older when nominated.
  2. Have achieved outstanding and/or extraordinary success at a National or International level of competition and have exhibited a high quality of athletic ability and/or contribution to his or her sport.
  3. Have retired from active participation in their sport for a period of at least one full year.
  4. Have lived in the area, which includes the Brantford, County of Brant, Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation for a minimum of five years prior to or during their sports accomplishments.

Builder

Builder is an individual (other than an athlete) who has made an outstanding contribution to a sport at a National or International level.

Inductee Eligibility Criteria

  1. Have played a role in a professional or amateur sport and be eighteen years or older when nominated.
  2. Have achieved outstanding and/or extraordinary success on a National or International level, involved other than as an athlete in a sport(s).
  3. Have lived in the area, which includes the Brantford, County of Brant, Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation for a minimum of five years prior to or during their accomplishments.

Submission Information

  1. The Deadline for submitting nominations is by September 1 of the year prior to the Induction Ceremony.
  2. Each nomination shall contain the fullest possible data, records and merits of the candidate. The responsibility of submitting the documentation and for its accuracy rests solely with the nominator.
  3. All nominations must be submitted on the forms provided by the Sports Hall. These forms are available on the Sports Hall website or at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre information desk.
  4. An outline of the Nominee's major accomplishments, along with supporting documentation, are to be emailed to sportshall@brantford.ca or delivered to the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre information desk.

NOTE: All documents, including pictures or information, submitted with your application/nomination, will NOT be returned or held on to. Please ensure you submit photocopies of your documents and/or photographs only – not originals.
