2018 Inductee – Athlete, Figure Skating

Lance VipondLance began skating at the age of three at the Brant Skating Club. In 1987, he finished 9th in Novice Men at the Canadian Championships. The following year, Lance would win the free skate in the same event and finish 5th. During the 1989/1990 season Lance represented Canada at the Oslo Piruetten, placing 1st before finishing 5th in Junior Men at the Canadian Championships. He competed at the 1990 Coupe Des Alpes and Nebelhorn Trophy international competitions, finishing 5th and 9th in Senior Men and finished 18th at the 1991 World Junior Championships. Lance competed at four Senior national championships between 1991 and 1996 before retiring at age 24.
