1998 Honouree – Builder, Bodybuilding

For over 50 years, Jim’s Gym has been a proud part of Brantford’s fitness community. Owned and operated by Jim and Julia Papai, it started in a small room attached to the back of the Papai's house. Among the faces Jim has seen come and go were, local, national and international sports figures including Steve Papp, Don Palmer, the boxing Summerhays brothers, and even Wayne Gretzky. As past sponsors of the Mr. Brantford, Mr. Southwest Ontario, and Mr. and Miss Ontario contests, Jim and Julia have helped develop more than just the local weight-training scene, extending their generosity of spirit beyond the walls of their modest facility on Pearl Street.
