Monsignor Harvey Roach

1995 Honouree – Builder, Basketball

Monsingnor Harvey Roach Monsignor Harvey Roach coached basketball, track, boxing and martial arts. Monsignor Roach had many accomplishments throughout his years of coaching these various sports. He won a total of 31 high school championships, including three Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Gold Medals and one Bronze Medal in basketball. He also coached two undefeated senior high school football teams and lost only one league game in a total of 10 years. He was also the co-founder of Brantford CYO and Hamilton’s Blessed Sacrament Basketball Programs, had several tournaments and trophies named after him and has received multiple civic and community awards. Most recently, Monsignor Roach was awarded the medal of honour from the Catholic District School Board. Monsignor Roach also held a black belt in martial arts and a gold medal from Hamilton's Centennial Games.
