Mike King

1993 Honouree – Builder, Baseball

Mike King Mike King wore many hats – athlete, coach, manager, and sponsor – although he never took himself seriously; he took everything he did seriously. King was a sportsman in every sense of the world, who did as much as anyone could in this city to promote Brantford’s baseball and hockey players. King alongside his long-time friend, Larry Pennell, formed the Brantford Red Sox who won the Intercounty senior baseball championship in 1949. Not only did King devote his time in to baseball, he also helped the Redmen win the intermediate A title in 1946.

Mike King died in 1980 at the age of 58. He had done so much in his short time here and enjoyed every moment.
