2002 Honouree – Builder, Baseball

Bill Moffat William (Bill) H. Moffat and Jim Fanning, Bill started the Brantford Church Hockey League from 1959 to the late 1960s but Bill was best known for leading the Intercounty Junior baseball team, the Brantford Red Wings, in 1968. He’d found a new sponsor, CKPC radio station, which brought about a team name change to Brantford CKPC Braves Junior Baseball team. Leading the charge, Bill and the team won numerous Junior Intercounty championships and three all Ontario AAA Junior baseball titles. He was given the title of Mr. Baseball and was awarded the Brantford Sportsman of the Year for his contribution and leadership into youth baseball.
